This is the first book in the Hot Flash Hookups series and I loved it. I laughed so hard at so much of this book. The fact that the characters were aging and not perfect 20 something’s was awesome. Olivia and Roman’s story is wonderful. What is more fun then having their respective kids meddle in their romance. I can’t wait for the second book to come out.

I loved finally finding a good sports rom-com with characters over 25. It was wonderful seeing their love grow alongside the struggles of hot-flashes, stretch marks, grey beards, and aching knees. I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters and the relationships between the main characters and their family dynamics were genuine and pulled you in from the first page.

My only complaints are a slow down of the story in the middle, the side characters were a little flat, and a slightly too-quick ending. Otherwise a wonderful read and I can't wait for book 2.

Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes (Hot Flash Hookups Book 1)  by Marika Ray & Sylvie Stewart

4 out of 5 stars

The humor in this romance book was just too good.  I really enjoyed Olivia's character and definitely got obsessed with the romance between her and Roman.  I feel like there was a little something to catch the eye of a very wide audience. It was easy to finish the book in one sitting. Definitely worth your time.

When her ex sends her an invite to his wedding, Olivia is forced to go when her kids set her up. Roman only wants to rebuild a relationship with his daughter so when she asks him to act as Olivia's date for the wedding, he jumps. What neither of them expected was the feelings they would find.
Opinion
This book is pretty funny with a moderate spice meter. I particularly enjoyed reading about Olivia's hot flashes and menopausal symptoms. I honestly feel this series will be a hit because it hits home with a large population. For a lot, even though they aren't there yet, reading about menopause, even in fiction, will give an insight into the future. Great book.

What a cute story! It's very enjoyable and made me laugh a time or two. I have to say that as an older woman I appreciated all the humor and comments on menopausal ailments. The characters are fun!  They really have a great build of different personalities in here. Very enchanting!  Not only the two main but a lot of the secondary just cracked me up.

Overall this one moves along at a good pace. Easy and quick read!  I look forward to the next in the series.

I fell in love with Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart from the very first chapter. Olivia and Roman are fun, relatable, and hilarious characters that capture your heart immediately. The fact that Olivia is menopausal and a little bit of a hot mess is fantastic and made her so lovable. And as a sports fan myself, I loved the hockey player Roman and his ability to step in and help his daughter when she asked him for a big favor. Humor and spice makes everything nice. This is a great read about hockey, hot flashes, family dynamics, and finding love again.

What an amazing read. I absolutely loved every single minute of this book and what a writing duo these two are! This has got to be one of the best books that I have read this year. I loved everything about it. Olivia was just amazing – she was such a relatable and likeable character – I honestly adored her! I definitely want to be like Olivia! I could go on for ages about how wonderful this book is but I really don’t want to give away any spoilers but it really was just a wonderful read, light-hearted and real from beginning to end! I definitely recommend that you grab a copy today!
