i'm a huge Batman fan and I recently discovered that I can read the first Batman comics collected in the Batman Chronicles. In this collection, the reader is introduced to the Joker and the Cat. I don't know if the Cat will eventually morph into Catwoman. That's what Vol. 2 is for.

Interesting to see how different Batman was in his earliest adventures and to see the intro of a couple of his most iconic adversaries! Some of the stories were definitely more engaging than others. It was definitely strange to see so much of the action described instead of shown & to see in general how different the style of comics were these were published.

Typical superhero writing, but still fun. Plus, it's funny to note the resemblance between Kane's style and what Fletcher Hanks would be doing just a few years later.

It is great to read the earliest Batman tales and see how much of the foundations were already set up and, yet, how much the character was to change in later years.
