I saw this book at B&N on the banned books table and just had to get it. I was curious as to why it is banned. After reading it I think that is BS! This is a book everyone should read!
This was such a good book!
This book made me feel mad, happy, sad, pissed, excited. Wow I really enjoyed reading this and can’t wait to recommend it to the next person! ❤️❤️❤️

This book is both powerful and accessible, making it a great choice for classroom discussions. It raises critical questions about race, justice, and identity in a way that resonates with young adult readers.
I just really loved this.
I picked it up as an audiobook because it was super short and I knew I could get through it fast and also I’m glad I read this during Black History Month. It was an amazing audiobook. I just really loved hearing this story against reading it.
I loved Justyce. I loved our characters a lot actually.
I think it did super well in the length the book was. It’s short being barely over 200 pages and it packs one hell of a punch in its length of time.
I love how we see Justyce write letters to Martin Luther King Jr. I think that was a great way to tell this story with everything else that was going on during it.
I’m definitely buying a physical copy of it so I can have it on my shelves!

Quick read with Young Adult category writing that leaves an impact... This book along with The Hate U Give are must reads. They will be taught in high schools 30 years from now to teach about unjustified shootings and race relations in the 2010's.
Read this along with my students and did I tear up multiple times in front of them? Yes, yes I did. I wish certain things were explained more at times, especially with SJ and their relationship because it sometimes just felt like it came to a weird stop. But otherwise it was beautifully written and an important read.
