Katie's book "The Blank Page" is a book that I think every writer can identify with. Rejection letters are difficult, when our loved ones don't like or understand our writing it can be rather frustrating not to mention disheartening. This collection speaks of the difficulties of a writer and our own self-judgment of ourselves in a way that is candid and frankly honest.

Whilst I found myself nodding to a lot of what Katie said and mulling over and considering her words, I found that I really identified with this line: "in a lust of wanting to sweep
free all of that that has bothered me". I think that's what all us writers try to do. We want to change and heal the world, and sometimes the only way we can do that is starting with ourselves.
