A bit of gore never hurt nobody

Well for sure I was done with vamp novels for some time, but then again the sneak peek of the chapter drew me in to the next one. About this book, was alright. Fun fast read with a tang of vintage. Just they way I like. Also the tale of struggling against ones love never gets old. Cookie for that.

“In a crowded room he will only see you. And once he has you in his arms, he won’t trade your heart for all the world.”
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This book is about Hayden a tortured vampire who was turned centuries ago by a sadistic crazy vampire who loves to torture and SA his victims, who falls in love with a human woman. This story shows the struggle of wanting to be with your love while staying away to protect them for their own good. Highly recommend this book.

Forever Chosen by K.L. Bone is a standalone novella featured in the Vampire Brides series that I listened to on audio narrated by Kylie Stewart.

This is the third book of K.L. that I have read and it did not disappoint. I do have to say the book does jump around in time so listening on audio while working was a bit confusing and I had to rewind a few times. However, I really did enjoy the story.

Kylie did an amazing job on the narration. I absolutely love her voice. She does a great job with different voices for each character so it makes it easy to follow along with the storyline.

This book is part of the Midnight Coven Universe. It is a novella and can be read as a stand alone.

I enjoyed this book. I will be honest and tell you that I have read only one other book in this universe. But you really don't have to read them all. I don't feel like I missed out on anything. This book is absolutely a stand alone. It took me a little bit to get into because the storyline skipped from present to 3-5 years ago and that was a little bit hard to follow until I got the hang of it. Hayden is a tortured knight who is ordered to kill Katherine.. only he can't kill her. Hayden fights to keep her safe and they grow close and fall in love.

There is so much more to this story. I had a hard time with the timeline jumping around but it honestly gave us back story and made a short novella seem longer and filled with more story. If you love hot vampire romances, I highly recommend this book.

Capturing me from early on I had to listen to this in one sitting. As this is a novella I thought it wouldn’t give much information about Hayden’s turning but I was happily surprised that this was quite detailed.
The narrator did a good job in differentiating each character so you knew it was a different person’s POV.
One thing is for sure, K.L. Bone writes great paranormal romances.

Not a fan

I wasn't a fan of how the book was written. Maybe it was a bit too "dark" for me. I wanted to have a story I could get lost in and this was just one I wanted to end.

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**Forever Chosen is an adult paranormal romance novella in the vampire brides series. The books in the vampire brides series are each standalones, so they can be read in any order, and they are all written by different authors and have different lengths and heat levels. I like the concept behind a series like this, and I think it would be perfect if you are craving some vampire romance. My problem is I think I am just over vampires at the moment. Most of the time, they don't feel unique or different enough, and that was kind of my experience with Forever Chosen. This book was ok. It was well written and the story and characters were fine. It just didn't excite me because I didn't really want to be reading about vampires. That is entirely a me issue, not a book issue. I think if you are in the mood for a vampire romance, this book and this series will be right up your alley.

Forever Chosen is the story of Katherine, a human girl and Hayden. The story starts out with Hayden being turned into a vampire, and let me tell you it is not a pretty tale of turning. He was turned by a very cruel master and then he was tortured for a very long time, which is saying a lot for an immortal creature. So his torture has stuck with him. Even so, I really enjoyed Hayden. I felt his struggle and I felt his emotion towards Katherine. Their story was a nice one. It clocked in at about 175 pages, so I flew through it very quickly, but in the end I was left with the impression that it was just ok. I have read other books by K.L. Bone and I really enjoy her writing style. I would recommend checking out her Rise of the Temple Gods series. Forever Chosen was just an ok read for me.
