I've been reading Brian Jacques since 7th grade when I picked up Salamadastron. They are a little on the young side for me nowadays but I still love the stories and how they all the books relate with past stories in some way. They are quick reads and they are just cute stories with happy endings. They are nice for inbetween books or just a fast read. I plan to read these to my children one day. I am sorry Jacques passed away. I would have loved the story of Redwall to continue forever. :)

I love Jacques books! They are cute and funny and really evoke a sense of hope in a person. This one is one of my favorites. The main character is one of my favorites of his series.

Another winner from the land of Redwall. I enjoyed the addition of some different animals - osprey, goose, wildcats - to the range of creatures that Redwall encompasses.

Been maybe five years since I've read a Redwall novel and they are still wonderful. Brian Jacques is an amazing and unique story teller and I will miss his talent. Only got a few more to read until there's no more :(

This is one of the weaker Redwall books. The A and B Plots are interesting, and feature some awesome moments, but even they don't have a lot of oomph. The C Plot is lacking somewhat more than usual, even with one distinct character that I do like a lot. The villain is neat, but not great. The main character doesn't get as much time to shine as several others surrounding her, and it all boils down a little too simply in the end. That said, this also has one of the better B plots in the series, and its characters and moments elevate the story, including at the points when it intersects with the other plotlines. As I've said before, it's not like Brian Jacques to write a fully "bad" story anymore. This is still good.
