This one was adorable! Got a bit muddy about 3/4 of the way through, but that just seems to be the standard for romances for me.

this really dragged on quite a while! I'm not sure rafe got the full evolution I wanted, or rather I'm not convinced of it.

waiting for piers to show up was agony

ETA: rafe so, so didn't get her and her dreams that I was confused when he did. and she didn't seem to get hers.

there was so much sex that wasn't just PIV before they got together I was like how are y'all kidding yourselves??! break this engagement right now!

I wish we had gotten to see clio break up with piers. the scene was set up really well — her standing up for herself, rafe refusing to deal this blow to his brother — that I was disappointed when it was off-page.

not the best autistic representation: Phoebe is a math genius who is good at counting and cats cradle. nevertheless she stole the show many times. I googled to see if she had her own book lol

It’s not fair, just how perfect Tessa Dare’s stories are.

Mehhh didn’t love this guy. The story was choppy and the compatibility of the two protagonists isn’t very believable. Not Miss Dare’s best work. Still satisfyingly spicy tho

Why do I keep reading romance books when I don’t even like them? Lol

Sweet, enjoyable! A wonderfully dazzling read.

Clio believes herself unwanted by her betrothed. After all, it has been eight years. So when she inherits a castle she seeks to have the betrothal/wedding called off. Piers's brother refuses to sign the papers and tries to convince her to proceed with the wedding, but finds himself falling for her instead.
A little heavy on the boxing/fighting/training for me.

Delightful. All the "butter" from planning a wedding; flowers, dresses, CAKES.

Boxer Rafe Brandon is great as the romantic interest here, as he is pressing these things on Clio - on his brother's behalf. He thinks this will make Clio Whitmore, dubbed "Wait-More" (shades of the UK's "Waity-Katie" because she's been engaged to his brother for eight years and never been kissed) swoon and get really interested in a big wedding, but this is destined to fail. She'd rather start her own brewery.

There are so many humorous and unique touches. Ellington the bulldog. Phoebe the sister who is clearly on the autism spectrum.

Clio is - kind of - a curvy heroine, but only in comparison to her thin sisters. However, she was subjected to body-shaming and food deprivation by her mother, and this might be hard for those who've experienced similar things to read. Still, a very fun, steamy read.

This is a very fine romance novel if you mostly want the romance part and aren't too picky about the novel part.

It had a few too many side-characters who were annoying (the boxing trainer, the married sister, the brother-in-law, various dead parents, & one smelly dog) in proportion to side-characters who were interesting (the younger sister & the long-lost brother).

But the two main characters were interesting enough, I suppose, and when they got down to kissing and having sex, it was lively and made up for the fact that not much else was going on except wedding preparations.

The last, wrap-up chapter was just annoying - where Clio tries to surprise her husband. I felt bad that the younger sister Phoebe seemed to have been forgotten even though she would have been the PERFECT business partner for Clio's & Rafe's brewery. I certainly cared more about her than anyone else in the story, and I had just begun to hope she might get together with Piers, or at least work for him part time on coded messages or something while she managed the brewery's accounts.

Sweet, sweet love story. I understood why they fell in love and it was believable.
