This, like every Dare I've read, was so fun. She finds a way to always pack an emotional gut punch about midway through, when some not-so-lighthearted trauma shows up, and this was no exception. This was a delightful childhood friends-to-lovers-but-she's-engaged-to-his-brother romp, and while I wished for a bit more of their initial storyline to show up on page in some way, I still had a great time watching them finally choose one another. It's always "I love you" and never "I filled an entire room in your castle with cake just for you," sigh.

4.5 stars. I haven't really loved any of Tessa Dare's books yet, but this one is probably my favorite? The set-up just really worked for me. I really loved the history between Clio and Rafe that was evident with how they talked to each other and casually referred to things from years ago. Often Tessa Dare romances just move too fast for me, but I think the pace of this one worked, probably in part because they had known each other so long and Rafe had been in love with Clio for so many years. They were just really sweet! And Clio asking Rafe to be her business partner was also SO wonderful. Bruiser was also really great, and I loved his friendship with Rafe.
