4.15 AVERAGE

I'm still invested in seeing how this story progresses. Sometimes, I think the story gets a little too bogged down in the minutia and details of the investigation. At times, there's just paragraph after paragraph of Light and L painstakingly detailing their thoughts on the case and it reads a bit like when people are trying to write contracts without any loopholes. Like, I understand it's an attempt to keep obsessive fans from finding plot holes and things (and also the author is probably just really intense about the details), but it can make for less than engaging reading for me at times.

I also keep waiting for Misa to be more complex? She reads like a ditzy blond and her intense love for Light continues to make no real sense to me. Less so now since she no longer remembers that he was Kira. I wish she had been written better, to be honest.

But this ends with an intense chase scene and I definitely want to know what happens next!

Not enough Ryuk or Rem

LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!

Seeing a soft side to Light was very enjoyable. This book is a 3.5 for me. It's not as good as the first 2 books, but overall, it's not terrible. Found myself to be bored in big chunks. I'm excited to eventually read the rest of the series even though I've seen the anime.

Round and round we go

I liked this volume a little less. But I'm very curious as to where it is going. And I miss the apple guy.

Not my favorite, but still really good.
