I'm not ok with the creepy feelings of the protagonist being sexually assaulted or that one or both of the men in the story abused her in some way and are just around her now to see if she realizes it and says something or if she's going to continue to be complicit and not say anything at all.  I also don't like supernatural stories.

Really loved this books. It was the perfect balance of mystery with romance. I loved the dual time lines and how they blended perfectly.

Recipe:

Dual timeline - then and now
Love triangle… errr, rectangle?
A pinch of mystery
A dash of eerie suspense
And the perfect amount of spice

This was more of a Romantic Suspense than a straight up thriller like Modglin usually writes but holy crap, I absolutely loved it! The plot was good and the characters were amazing.

I did kind of guess part of the twist fairly early on in the book but I wasn’t totally sure that I was right until it was actually revealed. It didn’t personally take away any enjoyment for me though.

I loved Hemlock so much that I may have to buy the paperback version. (I bought and read the ebook)

This book really did not meet my expectations! I was expecting a thriller, but it was really just a romance with some “thriller”-type moments thrown in for seasoning. I found the plot uninteresting and the characters bland. I like romance novels well enough, but this book was not for me.
