We got into the VR dueling and I couldn't separate my brain from the MC standing in her room on her VR thing with her being in game like I could with Ready Player One.

I've heard of this book before but had never been drawn to it due to not being a gamer, but when I saw Slay was available through my library app. I decided why not check it out and see, since I can return it if it isn't my taste. But I liked it a lot. Kiera is such an amazing character, probably one of my favorite YA protagonists in a while and I would definitely recommend Slay if you're considering checking it out.

Loved the discussions about relationships, with yourself, your friends and family, a partner and your community.

Okay, I friggin LOVED this book, like LOVED this book. Now there were things that bothered me, or that I found annoying, some characters that I really hated, and some things that I don't fully agree with but over all I loved the book.

I love that our main character is a game developer, I love the idea of a black focused MMORPG that really embraced DIFFERENT black cultures and traditions, and I enjoyed several of the supportive characters as well.

This book was INCREDIBLE! Even despite calling the twist, I was still shocked when it was revealed. Please read this book!
