Did a lot of skimming and ended up just reading dialog for the most part. Repetitiveness. The ending, the beginning, and last couple chapters were the best out of the whole book. Also the pregnancy???? What in the world. Not her best work but the job was done.

I feel like all of my reviews regarding Shari Lapena's writing are the same, but I'm somehow only one short of reading all of her books.

this could’ve been a quick read had it not dragged itself for eternity!

it’s a heavily clichéd murder mystery that should not have been this lengthy. since the main character has amnesia, just expect pages and pages of miscommunication and the plot going absolutely nowhere. a whole bunch of blah blah blah.

all the characters were annoying and stupid (i wish i was kidding), especially tom. he’s the type of person to set a fire and then wonder why everything is burning.
