This was my third read by Shari Lapena, definitely not my favorite but it was still a good, entertaining story. The ending was sort of predictable but that just means I'm getting smart and smarter figuring out the endings of all of these thrillers! I was a big fan of the short chapters (I can't stand books with long chapters!) and hearing each character's point of view. I don't think I'd reread in the future but I enjoyed reading overall!

This book certainly met the criteria to be a thriller novel - I was glued to it from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. However, several chapters later the book became just a ridiculously intense battle between two women over an egocentric man who does nothing to earn the love and loyalty of anyone. The end did throw in a couple twists I didn't see coming, and wraps the book up nicely, but getting to that point involved some eye rolling and sighing.
I was disappointed because I know this author is capable of more, but this ended up being just another thriller novel that I won't remember a month from now.

Quite boring honestly. It had a few reveals, but overall it was too predictable to be enjoyable. I hate not finishing a book and this is the only reason I did finish it.

Unfortunately, this felt really clumsy to me. The "big reveals" were more of info-dumps (that weren't backed up at all) at the beginning and end of the book. The writing itself was fairly clunky and none of the characters were sympathetic.

I'm bummed because I was looking forward to this one!
