This one is a mash up of second chance, mafia, and arrangement for sex. Throw in a little mythology and some flawed characters and readers are sure to find something to draw them in.

As always, Natasha has delivered a well written, nicely paced and interesting book. The woman has talent in spades. Anytime I pick up one of her books, I know I'm in for a ride. And while I really enjoyed Descent, this time, the ride seemed a bit smooth and lacking some of the more exciting twists and turns I've come to expect. It was still well worth the read and I look forward to whatever comes next.

An alluring, gripping, and steamy dark romance. Descent is a modern inspired story of Hades and Persephone, to the extent that the main characters also have the same names. The plot is complex and filled with twists and turns that will make you grip the edge of your seats.

The two characters have known each other since a very young age. At one point, Hayden 'Hades' Montogemary was Persephone Abbot's savior. Yet, when her father's enterprise is crumbling, he took advantage of her. At least, that's how she sees it.

The story is enticing at its best. I followed the plot like my life depended on it, and although dark romance isn't exactly my forte, I did go in without a lot of expectations. Imagine my surprise when I like this book more than I should.

The characters have questionable morals over some things, but that was expected from dark romance. I think the redeemable quality is that they have good intentions in mind. I don't condone cheating and fortunately, it has nothing of that sort in here. The hero is very overprotective over the heroine, claiming to be the Hades to her Persephone. In a way, they have a similar case although this book is not a modern retelling.

They carried each of their own secrets that will soon be unraveled as the story progressed. There are some scenes that can be pretty triggering at one point, but they weren't too graphic, although there was a lot of mention of it.

It was my first time reading Natasha Knight's work and I would definitely read more of her works from now on. As far as dark romance goes, she might be one of my favorite!

4.5 FABULOUS STARS!!
This is a dark, gritty, and a little bit twisty kind of book.
Hayden or Hades to Persephone is out for revenge and he takes it the only way he knows how.
Hayden is a complex character. He has several different layers, but the main layer is he will do just about anything and everything for those he cares for. Which basically means you do not want to be in his bad side.. He does not care what others think, and will throw punches when needed. Persephone is naive in so many ways. As with most of us she truly does not want to see the fault in those who mean the world to her. As their arrangement grows and evolves there are many truth that come to light. Every single truth needed to come out but at what cost?
If you are looking for your next delicious raw read them please follow along as these two face some hard truths and a few demons along the way.

I haven't read every book by Natasha Knight but this book convinced me to read them ALL!!!
What an amazing story ! The writing and characters totally made the book for me. Hayden and Persephone have my heart. Their chemistry was off the charts!! I couldn't get enough of them.
The book is fast paced, it takes you through a lot of twists and turns and it is exactly what I needed to pull me out of my book slump!!! I recommend it. An excellent enemies to lovers book. Do not miss it.

Good potential but I just needed for character development and plot/relationship depth.
