A sweet story of a girl who finds a dog- comes to love it and then returns it to the owner who lost it. Entirely wordless - it's a story for older preschoolers or early elementary school perhaps - definitely tugs at the heart strings.

A little girl sees a lost puppy and brings him up to her apartment. On her wall is a poster of her lost puppy, Prudence. The little girl falls in love with the puppy but as she is leaving the pet store she sees a lost poster for the puppy. She thinks about it and ultimately does the right thing and on her way home she passes the humane society . . .

A sweet wordless story of a girl finding a dog, and noticing a poster, returning the dog and finding another dog at a shelter.

Beautiful wordless book but have the tissues ready. It was kind of sad!

Oh, my heart! I wasn't ready for the sad/happy story in this wordless picture book. Illustrations by Larry Day are in pen & ink, watercolor, and gouache. Jenn has found a little golden dog, but she's trying not to get attached to it -- her dog, Prudence, still hasn't been found (see the Missing poster in her room). Finally, she lets herself fall for the new dog -- she even feeds him out of Prudence's bowl -- until, of course, she sees someone else's Missing poster for him. Now what? There is a lot to appreciate here about attachment and moving on.
