I thought it would be more like the movie but the book is completely different. Enjoyed it.

It was quite good. We, as readers, got an in-depth look on the perils of mental illness in the 50s-60s.

i've never been particularly troubled or perturbed by books like these. they comfort me. the chaos, the constant sadness of it all, the sudden dip, then the recovery. i love the recovery most of all. mostly because i feel like i have to be reminded that everything will be alright in the end. needless to say, i truly loved this book (even finished it in one day). i might even re-read it someday, when things finally start to lighten up.
