I really enjoyed this one. I've been looking forward to Kruger's story. Everything about the story was wonderful. How Kruger was with Jess and his friendship with Prism. How everyone included Jess and made her part of their found family. How tight the Elite are even if they are giving each other a hard time.

I devoured this book, I simply could not put it down. I wasn't sure if I was going to love Kruger as much as the other swim bros, but he stole my heart right away. The action in this book started chapter 1 and I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. This story had so much action and heart the connection between Jess and her Ben was everything! I also loved getting to see more of Prism in this book and I can't wait for his book!

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

I loved Kruger and Jess. They were so cute together.  I loved how protective and possessive Kruger was.  I will say it was a bit OTT but I found it to be hilarious.  It made me giggle every single time.   I loved how amnesia storyline played out.  She was angry but Kruger made her see that it was all real even if started out fake.  Swoon.  I love this group of found family and how it keeps getting bigger and bigger.  I am obsessed with this world.

Ben Kruger and Jess.  Childhood BFFs.  Fake engagement.  Opposites - rich vs. poor and athlete vs. musician.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 Stars

I ate this book up! Jess as a FMC was a badass and I respect the hell out of her.🙏 I only wish we got to see more of her in the earlier books, but I understand her reasoning why she kept her distance. Now though, she fits perfectly with the Elite and Kruger.❤️

Kruger was a loveable dork. I liked him as the MMC, but I think what I loved most about this book was his relationship with Prism. Their bromance was more powerful than even Jamie and Ryan. I loved the dynamic, and I am so psyched for Prism's book. He is looking to be one of my favorite characters after Lars.

The twist at the end even surprised me a bit. It all made sense, though, and I am glad Jess got her justice and happily ever after. I can tell the hospital staff and police are getting pretty tired of the Elite and I'm worried they are gonna reach their limit by Prism's book.😅

All in all, it's an amazing book with lots of Found Family that we all know and love. The spice was okay. Precious books had more interesting scenes, but I think the pice in this book fit out main characters perfectly.

Thanks, Cambria, for another great read!🐥💕

I haven’t read a book by this author in awhile, although I do love her #Nerd series. I’ve been seeing the fun special edition covers for the other books so far in this series, the ones not with the naked men on them like this one, and finally had some time when I saw a blog tour that I could jump in and check one out. Although I did already buy one of the others just because I loved the special cover so much, lol. And after reading this one I definitely want to go back and get the stories for the couples we met here.

The story started off with a crazy scary moment, and then we got into a “fake” dating type of situation, although because Jess wakes up with amnesia, it is only fake for Ben, even though it is all real for him, the feelings he’s had for her since as long as he can remember. He’s an alpha, possessive male, and at times it was a bit annoying how he would jump all over even his friends, and his gay male friends, who might touch “his girl.” That bugged me a bit. I don’t mind a tiny bit of jealousy, but in some of the cases it was a bit over the top for me, and I’d have been annoyed. Now if he’d seemed a bit more joking in the way he did it, it would have gone over better for me.

Not that Ben wasn’t great other than that though! And when the first really steamy all the way scene happened, well let’s just see I didn’t see the twist that came with that! The bad guy was kept a mystery for a long time, although Jess got certain feelings even with her amnesia, when certain people were around, and that led to all the pieces of the puzzle falling into place with the right words from someone who knew what had happened.

As I said, I really did like the characters, and actually feel that while this is standalone for sure, there are a few things that might make a tiny bit more sense if I go back and read just what else has happened to this cast of characters in the other books.

The best friends-to-lovers I've read in a long time! Kruger is such a a sweetheart. As overprotective and possessive as they come without being controlling of his favourite lady. I loved the new take on fake engagement/engagement of convenience, it was such a clever move on Cambria's part. I love each of Cambria's heroes and once again she made me fall in love with another swimmer.

Jess and Kruger are best friends, and hopelessly in love with one another. Each has a reason to keep their feelings secret until Jess is in an accident that causes amnesia. A white lie to get Kruger into Jess's hospital room quickly spirals out of control when she can't remember who he is, only her feelings for him.

Mutual pining is such an underrated trope and one that I LOVE to read. I felt so bad for Jess with how confused and frustrated she was to not remember anything. It was so cute seeing her and Kruger be able to express their true feelings for each other. As always, I had so many highlights that just picking 10 was a real struggle.

I loved how much more of Prism we got and look forward to his future book...
