The plot has absolutely no sense of direction, and there’s little to no character growth among the main cast. Some characters are simply disregard for the sole purpose of “we don’t want to address them anymore” and certain plot lines are no longer tackled. So much potential, but all I can say is, WTF

This was a cute, sometimes tense read about a horror obsessed teenager falling in love in rural Texas, until he starts seeing evidence of death and secrets everywhere on the ranch. I found the story to be cute but the pacing was a little awkward, the story never really found the right emotional or plot line beats for me to really get into it.

For such a short graphic novel, the characters were richly rendered, the setting atmospheric, and overall just plain enthralling! Read it in a single sitting. I wish we would have gotten a little flash forward epilogue or something, more time where we could see
them actually being a happy couple together, because, y'know, I'm a softie like that.
If you love queer YA love stories, Northanger Abbey & its various remakes, spooky movies, graphic novels, or stories featuring ranch life/cowboys? This book is 100% worth the read.
