Great Joker story. I really liked the story was told through a thug who was riding with joker and wants to find out how the joker 'is not crazy'. The ending where he realized that the joker is in fact not crazy but just plain evil led by his fluctuating emotions I loved.

I can’t believe I just left this sitting on my shelf for so long. I knew I was gonna enjoy it. The cover alone told me that. It was just as dark and twisted as I’d anticipated and the art was incredible.

Joker by Brian Azzarello is one of these graphic novels you cant take breaks off you will gobble it up in a day.
What a novel !
Did you ever wish for a graphic novel based only on joker and no one else but joker?
Well, in this graphic novel Azzarello hands us this wish on a golden plate.
So, the joker has convinced his doctors that he is sane and they can release him and he gets released, only to find out that all his business have been split between different crime lords.
Its weird enough that by page 24 we haven't seen anyone get killed by the joker yet , but in page 25 he delivers crime lords are killed all over Gotham.
Johnny frost is somehow the co-star in this journey , yes we know you are somebody now Johnny hell all of this might hint that you are the future joker in the time stream that this graphic novel belongs in.
Johnny is excited to work with the joker but is he really? it proves to be too much for him but in the end we see him get disfigured in a similar way to the joker while the joker is getting beaten by the batman.
We also get to see the forever sexy and abso-fucking-lutely crazy Harley Quinn but sadly she doesn't have a big part in this.
What about the joker frightening the hell out of Penguin and Harvey Dent? no one holds a candle to the joker because he is unexpected he is totally nuts and you never know what he will do !
And finally i also loved that Killer Croc was the joker's side kick in this journey.
I don't really know if i have read anything by Brian Azzarello before but Now i know i did.

I can read anything Lee Bermejo draw but color work in this book really does him a disservice. Azzarello have always been a "hit or miss" kinda writer for me and all-over-the-place story without any substance here is definitely a miss. After seeing "Joker" I thought it was time to give this one a shot and I really wanted to like the book but I just couldn't. Considering this came out not much after "The Dark Knight" this Joker here obviosly inspired by Nolan/Ledger version but it is nowhere near of that portrayal, which is not an easy feat to pull but still doable,DC animated movie "Under The Red Hood" proved that.

A day in the life of one of Joker's henchmen. It was great to see the story from the bad side for once. This Joker reminds me a lot of Heath Ledger's take of the Joker.

Why does this have such a high rating? It's just 'oh! Look! The Joker is doing something deplorable! Oh look now he's doing something worse!' I don't know why Harley was even in this, she's like the comic book version of a movie extra. On second thought I know exactly why they put her in there. The only reason I finished this was because I flipped through it and saw Batman at the end and thought it would get interesting, and it didn't.
