Really interesting concept. Unfortunately while that was enough to get me to pick up the book it wasn’t enough to keep me engaged in the story. I was expecting a very different story than what I got, when you have a phenomenon like the unmapping you should focus on it. Instead the author spent the length of the story bouncing between two unlikable characters who were “helping” respond to the disaster. This could have been interesting if done well but they were so flat that I didn’t care about their efforts. The stream of consciousness writing style just didn’t work for me.

Above average for concept, but I didn't love the execution. A big world event is happening, and we're kind of getting fringe stories. Which would be cool actually, but there's so much going on with so many different people, with only small glimpses at the most interesting parts and very few answers.

I wanted to like this one so much more than I did  — it was really interesting in some places but fell flat in others. I went in expecting more of a tone and story similar to The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin, but it felt like there wasn't a full commitment to the "weird" in this novel. It's still a good story and I do recommend picking it up if you're looking for something that makes you go "huh?"

This was okay. I liked the concept and the writing style but it felt a bit…..after all that, what was the point?

interesting exploration of how people react to a crisis, what happens when people with mundane problems are untethered from their routine. It has some complicated very human characters, and I understand why they are the way they are, but that doesn’t make me like them.
Arjun particularly is like. very interesting complex character, I understand how his experiences made him the way he is. and the way he is is not someone I like or enjoy reading about, unfortunately.

I also felt like the whole explanation of everything was. a little random? The climate fiction aspects are definitely more fabulism than science-based.
I probably would have liked it if I liked the characters more. Anyway, clearly just not for me!
