Easily the best autobiography by a musician I have read.  His music is the soundtrack to my own life.  He is an inspiration

I am not a fan of Dave Grohl’s music but after reading this book I am a fan of Dave Grohl. This book was an interesting account if Grohl’s music and life. Highly enjoyable.

Dave’s honesty and vulnerability created a welcoming environment for us all to join in his life journey.

While the format is linear overall, it is divided by the overarching themes of the musician’s life which was a breath of fresh air in autobiographical storytelling. Not a dull moment, not an anecdote that bored.

Dave’s open discussion of proud moments with his children (especially the talent show) brought me to tears.

All in all, I was impressed with this true work of art that Dave has created. A brilliant musician, but this shows that he’s truly an even better human being.

I was unfamiliar with David Grohl and his journey as a musician. This book we an interesting look at the past, as well as at the way he grew into and around music. I liked hearing about the vibrant punk scene in DC, the evolution of Nirvana into the mainstream, and eventually how family became a part of his journey as well.

He’s got a distinct voice, not always the smoothest read, and at points I found myself having to reread for clarity, but overall the stories live up to the title of “The Storyteller”
