Frankenstein is a fast, sentimental read. The book is markedly different than the movies, pop culture references, and traditional grunting green guy. A bit flowery at times, Frankenstein's monster is a tortured soul you just want to hug and make a cup of tea.

This was actually incredible - I looooved the implied relationship between [Frankenstein and his creation] and [God and Adam]. This story is so juicy with little meanings about humanity, nature vs. nurture, responsibility and accountability to those you create. While reading this I felt a deep suspicion and loathing for all the images I've seen of Frankenstein's creation as this weird, green-skinned nasty dude with bolts all coming out of him. I was really sympathetic to the creation and I have a hard time even referring to him as "Frankenstein's monster." I think it makes this story even more interesting that so many people refer to the creation himself as "Frankenstein" - which is more of a monster, the creation or the man who made him? How much of Frankenstein himself is imbricated within that which he made? Absolute banger
