Narrated by Austin Butler, surprisingly enjoyed this duology despite being YA.
"ᴛʜᴏꜱᴇ ᴡʜᴏ ɢᴏ ʟᴏᴏᴋɪɴɢ ꜰᴏʀ ᴘᴀɪɴ, ꜰɪɴᴅ ɪᴛ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴛɪᴍᴇ." -Ylira Noavek.
TW: Murder, Poison.
Two words: PLOT TWIST
This book follows the wake of absolute chaos that followed after the end of the first book. And it's safe to say no one- AND I MEAN NO ONE- will see the plot twist coming.
In the beginning of #thefatesdivide , none of the characters know where they fit in or which side that truly belong. The growth of the characters are exceptional and the book's highlight is the growth of friendship rather than the relationship of the main characters. Amongst all that; alliances shift, assassinations are planned and everyone has their own agendas.
Cyra finally finds out the power she holds- As a Noavek heir and her current gift and Akos finds himself centered and defined by one goal.
The ending is bittersweet and is narrated in the most perfect way encompassing and end to individual characters stories.
All in all, this duology was a 4- star rating.

....is there another book or not? i am CONFUSION
i am tired but here are my thoughts: this book felt like a mad rush to the finish toward the end, when the pacing had been normal before that. tbh, what was the point of this book's Big Baddie being here? was the reconciliation at the end done too quickly (yes)
anyway. good night!

I loved it. Crying in the middle so badly, I had to stop listening in the car, when I realized what the mothers had done. Amazing book and a perfect end.
I liked I but I didn’t at the same time. At one point I was thinking “this is better than the first book.” And then it slowed down and I started to lose interest. It got good again but I just don’t care for the characters I guess. I can’t connect with them in any way.
Fairly uneventful, definitely should read after Carve The Mark or closer to having finished Carve The Mark so the story is fresh
An excellent follow-up and conclusion to Carve the Mark. Just missed out on 5 stars because I felt the ending was a little muddled.
