This is my favorite Veronica Roth book yet! I loved the world building for this series - it stayed richly consistent from start to finish. The way the plot unfolded allowed surprises without creating inconsistencies, which I loved. Akos and Cyra were complex without being overdone - flaws well balanced with strengths. Having the story unfold from four perspectives - Akos, Cyra, Cisi, and Eijeh - added additional depth.
Overall, a really good read!

Satisfying conclusion to the series! Some slow parts, but overall I'm happy with how everyone's fate played out.

Lazmet Noavek reclaims the throne. Cyra and Akos become desparate to stop the coming war that will ensure the destruction of their worlds.

First one was better. I hate it when there are like a million narrators. This seemed way more rambly.

Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Not much happens and it moves slowly. Enjoy the characters but they definitely were more engaging in the first book. There’s a lot of world building and it gets confusing at times but I appreciate the thought and effort that went into creating these worlds.
