What even is life? I just finished this today and I cannot express how beautifully written this book was.
Just read it ok? I looked everywhere for the English translation and finally found a couple of good ones.
This took me quite a bit of time to read because a lot of time I had to stop myself. My misery was too much to handle and so was my joy. This book both broke me and left me with so much warmth in my heart.

The plot is EVERYTHING. Meatbun has got big brain and I'm in awe. However, I can't bring myself to like Mo Ran, and I went from adoring Chu Wanning to have missed feelings about his character.
This is one of those stories where the villain's reasons make TOO MUCH SENSE not to want them to succeed. So yeah, team villain here. No regrets.

If the book had a better editor it would've been a masterpiece. The talent of author to invoke emotions and wrench it from the deep corners of my dead heart was impressive.

This was a 5 star for me up until the last 30 chapters of the book. The ending was so bad it almost entirely ruined the whole book for me.
