Cute, YA Summer romance and great insight into ableism, Deaf culture and feeling caught in the middle of the hearing and deaf world.
I enjoyed this and while the writing was choppy at times, I really enjoyed it.

Also thought it was very cool / clever the way she indicated how someone was signing vs speaking throughout. Not sure how that would come across in an Audiobook.

Really cute and inclusive romance.

A really sweet YA summer romance, with a nuanced yet frank exploration of what it means to be a deaf teen in a hearing family. I really loved it!

I thought this book was cute and thought that it was very informative I'm not deaf but I feel like I learned a lot just listening to their journey I didn't think the book was quite slow and as far as a romance goes it really wasn't my favorite this might be mostly because I found the main character mildly annoying true to character she was acting like a 17 year old kid so that may be a me problem

Give Me a Sign is a coming of age story about a young deaf girl who experiences summer camp to learn ASL. She meets friends, experiences a summer romance and finds her voice. I did learn from this read about a topic that I have little experience with and I would recommend this as a light romance to my students. Although I did enjoy reading this story especially about the ASL, I think this book was a bit overwhelming in the troupes and lacked the depth we find exemplary in our list books.
