Read while the 33rd anniversary of ADA fell on the calendar. Far from my first Deaf/HoH title and still so profound. The arrest scene is such a small part of the overall storyline but one that will replay in my thoughts for a very long time. So many powerful themes throughout that I wish this book could be made into required reading just so everyone would understand the importance of accessibility and Deaf culture.
This was such an amazing book! I'm currently taking ASL 1 and this was the perfect read. Isaac may be one of the sweetest characters ever written.
I loved getting to see Lilah's journey of self acceptance with a little sprinkle of romance. I found myself so frustrated when people wouldn't believe Lilah and Issac were Deaf because they didn't "look deaf" what is that supposed to look like?
I loved every second of this story and would LOVE to see a sequel in the future?

it was a good book!! the chapter with issac and the police broke my heart!! but so happy they got there happy ending! Lilah pissed me off a lot of times, was very unprepared and kept changing how she felt about being deaf and other deaf people. I hate the cochlear implant hate

This books was a fun time. I loved the discussions around deafness and the representation of deaf culture and finding yourself in a community that understands you. I am really really glad this book exists! I will say the romance just didn’t grip me and sometimes the writing was a little cheesy. I think I am aging out of the YA romance genre a little and that is alright. However, I thought this book was cute and a fun time.
Absolutely fucking delightful. I was gonna give this only 4 stars (which is my standard stamp of approval) and then I remembered that this kept me entertained on a transatlantic plain ride so…5 stars
If I was younger then I would've eaten this shit up

A charming story about a Deaf teenage girl whose parents are very "no, you must integrate into hearing society at all costs" attending a camp for Deaf and visually impaired kids and teens as a counsellor.
This turned out to be harder hitting than I expected based on that adorable cover, but I'm really glad I read it.
