"Being deaf isn't something that needs to be fixed."

this was a sweet romance story that focused on the deaf community. i found the book very informative and i definitely know more about the deaf community and how hard it is for them to fit into the real world. the connection between lilah and issac was so sweet. the only problem i had was that the book was super slow at times and i found myself getting bored. it's a sweet romance though, and i recommend it for people who want to learn more about the deaf community or want a palette cleanser.

A super sweet and cozy read! I’ve been looking for more books about deaf culture since reading Sarah Novic’s ‘True Biz’, and Sortino delivers. ‘Give Me A Sign’ is predominantly a lighthearted summer camp romance with a fun cast of characters and a soul-searching protagonist (a formula you can’t go wrong with, really). Some more serious moments depicting inaccessibility + ableism are peppered throughout, but overall Sortino emphasizes connection and communication as primary themes.
