This was so cute and such a great introduction to deaf culture. There was so much I didn’t know and this book was very accessible as it gave valuable insight to someone like me who has little knowledge on the subject matter.
The love story was adorable although our fMC could be a bit annoying at times; for instance, she talks about how hearing people in her life get tired of trying to re-explain what they say to her since she missed words here and there, yet when she reveals she has a crush on Isaac, she refuses to be patient with him as he tries to explain himself to her. Instead, she walks away with her own preconceived notions about what he was saying. As a hard of hearing person, she should have been more understanding toward him (in my opinion, because she treated him the way she doesn’t want to be treated by others).
Overall though it was very cute.

lovely representation and i learned so much about Deaf culture HOWEVER when you market a book as a romance and the LEAST interesting part of the book is the instalove romance ... so so much potential
A great option for a summer read . The nostalgic summer camp vibes throughout the book make you feel light and warm throughout the story . The way the author address the intricacies of the deaf community and the struggles of life with a disability is perfect. This story has equal parts happiness and heartbreak . As a reader , you watch the main character struggle to find herself while she’s trapped between two worlds of which neither fully accepts her . I think this is a great read especially for anyone hoping to gain insight or better empathize with anyone with a disability. I would highly recommend this story especially to YA ages who can sometimes be quick to alienate or otherwise make things hard for anyone who is different than themselves.
**The one scene will absolutely rip your heart out because it is unfortunately so real and probable .
