I greatly enjoyed this book's representation of the complexities and nuances of the deaf identity, and the overall setting of the camp. However, it was very clearly an agenda book, and that got too obvious and a little preachy in a few places.

Really cute story. Love the upfront conversation points and real representation. Glad there was a realistic ending, too.

This was a cute, heartwarming book that gave an introduction to the world of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. I liked that the struggles of Deaf and HoH folks were explored in a way that showed everyone has a different experience and deals with things differently. The romance was sweet, the summer camp atmosphere was refreshing, and the narration was great.
