Are all Sally Rooney books this good?? Have I been sleeping on Sally Rooney??
继[b:Normal People|41057294|Normal People|Sally Rooney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1571423190l/41057294._SY75_.jpg|59141209]的三星评分后发现Rooney不太对我的胃口。

I’m in a reading slump. Couldn’t really connect with the characters and I just wanted it to be over. I think maybe it’s the authors style I’m not vibing with bc I felt the same meh after normal people when other people loved it. Oh well!
i think i tried reading this like 3 times but just couldn't get into it. i'll try to read it again tho, maybe my preferences changed after 3 yrs😁

This is litfic at its worst—dull and pretentious.
Sally Rooney is a smart and talented writer, but I’m convinced that this book is basically her trolling. And she pulled it off :)
The emails read like conversations between pretentious lit students in a pub, spilling out endless “big” thoughts for hours. There’s no actual story here, so don’t bother looking for one.
This type of literature definitely has its audience (and that’s why it has a right to exist), but I’m not one of them.
In my view, this would have worked far better as a collection of essays and short stories, because that’s essentially what it is—though I imagine that would have been harder to sell.
