Overall enjoyed this read, it was very fun experiencing a story I loved to read from a totally different perspective. By the end of the book I became less interested. Certain passages started to feel like their only purpose was to set up for the next books, or to inform readers about information learned organically in Enders Game.

Incredible! I absolutely loved this book. It was great to see this from an alternative perspective.

I like it more than I like the end of Ender's saga, but I am pretty sure I am emotionally done with anything related to Ender Wiggin.

This is the companion novel to Ender's Game. It tells about many of the same events from the point of view of Bean, a notable but not exactly major character in the first book. Of course, the beginning of this book is Bean's back story, which was completely new. Finding out about Bean was odd in the sense that his in-depth descriptions contained elements that I did not pick up on whatsoever in the other book. I knew Bean was smart and small, but I never got the impression he was superhuman or genetically altered. This can be explained fairly well by the different perceptions driving each book. Bean realizes that Ender isn't aware of how intelligent he is.
Overall I thought Card succeed in retelling a story with enough new details to keep things interesting. He also knew when he didn't need to go into detail because, well, we already read that book.

Fine. After being resistant, I did actually shed a few tears at the last scene. However, this is it for any of his books... I like the concept, but I'm not invested in the rest of Card's world. Of course, this was all in the name of getting ready for the upcoming film, too.

Incredible. I finished it in less than two days, and loved it every but as much as Ender's Game. I cried.
