All she wanted was a one night stand

But, Carla had secrets. Secrets that were popping out of the closet. She finally came clean with Terry about her past and why she was anti-relationship. Terry kissed her and managed to break down that wall she put up to protect the people she loved. Her ex-husband was a monster. He lived up to his nickname. Carla sacrificed her life to keep her children safe. With her big Monster mountain chopped down to a molehill, she can finally breathe and relax living a life with her family. She'd spent her life in isolation from her children to focus on her businesses and financial stability for herself and her children. She had to be careful in her business dealings to not draw attention from Monster.
With him out of the way, Terry and Carla can finally merge their family and businesses for their HEA.
I enjoyed reading this story of how Carla sacrificed her life for her children to keep them safe. She refrained from any relationships because she did not want her love interest in her messy life, especially taking on the ire of Monster and his mother Millie on her trail. I love how she let go and trusted God to get her out of the mess of her life she was in. When she realized that Terry loved her and she loved him, she fought it but he stayed by her side every step of the way. They were ideal for each other. Now Terry's mother can stop trying to set him up.
