its hard to review a memoir bc its not just a made up story but smn that actually happened and i dont want to discount her experience but i will say i liked her writing and how she goes through everything that happened to her and the effects of it

i did leave a lot of rants in a buddy read and i did end up googling the case and reading the entire wiki page jdsjxndnxn

Chanel Miller is such a great storyteller. I remember when this case broke in the news. I did not realize the incident happened just months before I myself attended college! Hearing Miller tell us her story, displaying her anger, frustration, sadness, numbness, loneliness, hopelessness really brought power to her story, especially in Emily Doe's Victim Impact Statement at the end of the book.

Heart wrenching, honest, brave, and beautifully written. I ache for and am in awe of Chanel Miller.

I think this book should be a required reading to graduate high school.

This was such a powerful, revolutionary memoir, and listening to it read by Chanel was so moving. I am hopeful that society is moving in a direction where victims do not have to go nearly as far as Chanel did to receive appropriate justice. I am also hopeful that these acts of violence can continue to be intercepted by community and looking out for each other. Believe victims, and believe women.
