This sequel to The Other Merlin did not disappoint!

We pick up shortly after where we left off in the previous book, and in this one, we get even more character development. Emry is struggling to control her magic, Emmett is finding his place in the palace, Arthur is trying to figure out where he and Emry stand while shaping the future of his kingdom, and Guinevere finds herself in a precarious situation.

I don't want to say too much and spoil the first book, but I really enjoyed where the character arcs and plot took us in The Future King! Schneider gave us more access to each character and their motivations, and it really spotlighted how we often judge things, and people, too quickly.

Young Adult fantasy romance fans will definitely want to get their hands on this series. The third book comes out later this year.

I’m actually so obcessed with this series!!! I’m notoriously bad at finishing series’s but I cannot wait for the 3rd and final one and wanna read it now so badd
This book was definitely darker and more suspenseful than the previous one but I still absolutely loved it, loved the characters who are introduced in this, and the end made me cryyy
Cannot wait for the 3rd book and absolutely love all these characters so much. The author also does such such a good job with character development of characters you don’t necessarily originally like and it’s so enjoyable to see the process
