I'd have enjoyed this quite a bit more if it weren't for the spoiler to end all spoilers that Aldous Huxley included in his introduction. Sigh....

I loved the audiobook, it includes music and sound effects which makes it an amazing ride. I will still try to get my hands on a physical copy to add it to my collection. It shows a very particular society. The technological advances allow them to live longer, and suffer no sickness but they become obsessed with vain desires.
This book is an amazing ride, I highly recommend it to everyone. It's hard to believe how intense, over the top, and at the same time realistic this story can be, especially when we are surely already living in a very consumerism society. It's scary to see where we can end up at.

Yeah, I enjoyed this 10000000000x better than 1984.

AND WHAT WAS THAT ENDING????

I recall being vaguely put off by this book, as the Betas and below were just so stupid, and even the Alphas were entirely satiffied to date vapid dip-wits and not to question the order of things, as it benefited them most of all, but left a stale and entirely unjust (and hence actually unsustainable) society in place that eventually will have to fall.

I really enjoyed the novel. I actually felt it was a little short. I wanted to know more about the universe they were living in. It was an interesting look into what could so easily become our future.

The essay was interesting, but brought my reading to a complete halt. Took me two weeks to read 100 pages. Lots of interesting and scary thought about where we are headed. And the essay was written many years ago. I wonder what Huxley would think about our state of affairs today.
