I think Spiotta got tired of her own main character and didn't know how to end the book...
I was glad to have it end.

Effective interweaving of mother/daughter/growth/mortality themes.

Not good. Went nowhere. Overly precious depiction of motherhood. Nonsensical faux historical back data inserted near the end. No resolution. No point. I’m sorry I didn’t put it down before finishing.

Picked this up from my local library. The main character, a wife and mother, faces a breaking point as Trump gets elected and she begins the menopause. The book then follows her journey as she pivots her life.
