All of the bad reviews about this made me skeptical, but I really enjoyed this book! I love reading little glimpses between stories, and this gave me just that. I liked the story between Miles and Shelby, and I thought it was sweet. The poem Shelby wrote was quite terrible! Roland was likable, yet noble, so I liked him even more than before. I was a bit confused about Arianne's story. I thought the ending there was a bit abrupt, hence the 4.5 star review. I did like the story between Luce and Daniel... I thought this was well written and enjoyable.

It was nice to step out of Luce's head for a little while and see the others' perspective. I would have liked to learn more about Cam. Seeing Cam in Roland's story was eye opening, and it made me like Cam so much more than I already did.

Ok so i skimmed through most of it. It's basically Shelby, Miles, Roland, Arriane, Daniel and Luce during the middle ages. It's like at some point in the third book this happened. It tells the story of the beginnings of Shelby and Miles romance, Roland's one true love, and Arriane's love story. Also Daniel and Lucinda's one and only valentines day together. It doesn't really add or take away from the main story of the series. Personally, i didn't enjoy it that much but it's not meant to be a the feature its more of a bonus thing so in that sense i guess it's a good bonus.
Anyway I wouldn't have minded skipping it.

I feel really sorry for Arriane. Tess shouldn't have made her choose between heaven and love! If it hadn't ended with Luce and Daniel I would be angry - it had to! What a beautiful valentine's day!

It gave good insight into certain characters backstories, explaining about Roland and why he never loves anyone in the entire series, and the sad history of Arrianne's scars. Shelby and Miles was a little gooey for my taste, and Luce and Daniel's story was blah, boring, but the middle two were good and interesting and shed new light.

Tess and Arriane's story was my favourite by far.
