Certainly not for the weak of heart but possesses a compelling story-line with intricate characters, world building, and an interesting MC Alucard (Dracula).

I don't like anime but this one is fairly ok. I really only tolerate the art because I enjoy the story. This is the first manga I've ever read. I've watched the entire movie series of Hellsing and my boyfriend had the manga lying around so I decided to read it. Took a little getting used to because it is obviously set up in the Japanese book style. When it comes to the style of Hellsing, I find it a little better then others I've seen, but I still don't find it that good. Pretty much the only reason to read this is the story. I will probably read the others but Hellsing is going to be the beginning and then end to any manga experience I will ever have in my life.
Kinda ugly artwork accentuates an otherwise interesting story. I'm hoping the artwork grows on me in the next volume [EDIT: It does. The mangaka seemed to get a bit lazy in some panels with his characters/backgrounds, which lessens in later volumes [I've read 4 vols. as of 1/6/15], though he seems to become obsessed with drawing feet in later volumes as well).
I really like this manga but I don't think I'm going to get to the other volumes any time soon because I am just dying to get to the anime. I want to watch this so bad because if it follows this manga, it's finna be lit af. The blood, gore and fighting has my head reeling, it's everything I love in my manga/anime.
What I have to say Hellsing was an amazing anime so I had to read all of the mangas. And I am completely satisfied to know that the anime was that amazing because they adapted all most everything from the manga.
