I've heard a lot of good things about this series over the years, so as I'm on a bit of a manga kick at the moment, I figured I'd finally read it. I am sorry to say I'm not impressed. The kindest thing I can think to say is it hasn't aged well - but really, a lot of the rather racist, misogynist and religiously bigoted things in this were not appropriate even when this was written (I found it unpleasant as an atheist, I shudder to think what a protestant, Catholic or Muslim would make of it!)
I'll read the rest, but I'm not expecting much from it anymore..

This is the first manga I've read and I've really enjoyed it! That probably has something to do with me being a fan of vampires/horror stories anyway but Hellsing takes a different spin on things.
Characters are bizzare and interesting- especially Father Anderson! -and the story is exciting so far... Bring on the next volume!
