This book accomplished everything it set out to do. It had the ambiance, the characters, the historical feel to it that is sure to please anyone interested in the witch trials and puritans. The artwork is gorgeous. This book is well crafted and the love the author has for it can be read on every page. Way better than expected. I was rooting for our girl the entire way through even though I probably shouldn't have.

A fantastic take on the classic puritan witch story. Fantastic characterization of Samson, and I loved Abitha’s transformation throughout the book. Brom’s paintings are eerie and his way of storytelling sucked me in. I could not stop reading!

This book is as if Carrie, The Crucible, and The Vvitch had a baby. A bit slow at times but damn… what an ending. Loved!
