I have been making my way through all LS's backdated works, and stumbled upon another small town romance. These perhaps are my favourite kind of romance, now to the review. I really liked the setting of the town, I liked the small town vibes, I liked the side characters and all the pets! I did wish to see more of Sophie and Ty's story, because they seemed to sweet. Now, onto the main couple. I really liked Harper, I thought she was so sweet, and nice, and optimistic and she is very much the epitome of a 'sunshine' character. Now Luke, he is the complete opposite of Harper and the embodiment of 'grumpy'. He has good traits, he is caring and loving and protective, but is also quite harsh. Once his trauma is revealed I knew what the complication of the story was going to be, and I didn't like it. Especially with how he did the complicating, anyway. Overall, it was a good book, it was really enjoyable to see the sunshine/grumpy dynamics and the chemistry between the main characters.

Good romance that you expect from Lucy Score. MMC goes on deployment for part of the story and your FMC figures out how to live in their small town without him. Has all of the good romance ✨tropes✨

I enjoyed this book and I liked the plot, but it was very predictable to me. I almost DNF'ed before the ending not because I wasn't liking it, but because I felt like I was reading another version of the same type of story.

3.5? Uneven.

Edit: after sleeping on it, 2.5 stars rounded down.
Too long, too uneven, and too much repetition.
