Book in 3 seconds-
Harper Wilde makes a wrong turn and ends up broke down at a bar where she meets hunky captain Luke, who helps her get on her feet in exchange for her to agree to fake date him to get his family off his back. Harper falls head over heels but Luke can’t open up and give Harper the love she deserves due to his complicated past. He pushes her away and then realizes what he needed was right in front of him.
Lucy Score does a wonderful job illustrating the story with her words I found myself getting teary eyed several times throughout the book. She did a great job at holding my attention and keeping me from getting distracted. I did start to feel that she was loosing me towards the middle and then wished it wouldn’t have wrapped up so quickly at the end. I really enjoyed the witty banter and strong family and friend relationships.

Solid 3.5 stars. Easy read. Lucy scores character banter does it again. I wanted a more romantic, grander gesture at the end but def continuing on to the next book in the series. I really don’t like that in many of her books that the characters end up getting engaged/married after only knowing each other for like 4-6 months. But it doesn’t stop me from reading them all.

3.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this book. At times, I felt it was maybe a bit more chaotic than what I was wanting, but still liked it, and the spiciness was a little too spicy for my taste but overall a good read. I like my romance to be a little more cheesy and fluffy.

Luke is such a doofus of a man. I get where his hesitation to be open to love is coming from, but like I wanted to smack him so much.

That being said… the chemistry he and Harper had was off the wall. I loved the small town of Benevolence and it’s people.

And I wish Harper had more self respect than to just openly accept him back just after one kareoke song!!!

And then as soon as the breakup was over and all was forgiven he proposed. They have only been in the same city for like two months????

Could not put this book down. Love Lucy Score and her books so much. spicy, emotional, 10/10 for me. Wish there was another book just on Luke and Harper.

I liked the female MC but the male MC had me either loving or hating him. It also emotionally wrecked me with a plot point I wasn’t expecting

Far too long and quite frankly the premise was ridiculous.

The story was nice and amusing, with just the perfect amount of emotion. I got immersed in the lives of these endearing and intriguing characters.
About Luke and Harper, I enjoyed the whole fake relationship scenario and how it evolved into something real.
I enjoyed learning about their backgrounds and they also had strong overall character development. There is a little drama, a lot of tenderness, and a lot of passion.
