This book! So it's the epitome of bad boy/good girl with the ice hockey element. I loved seeing it play out, but I loved seeing their relationship. I loved seeing how close they got! We get tons of drama in it, and I didn't mind the college element. Plus, I really love a big protective brother angle, and in this one, she doesn't just have a big brother who is super protective. The brother is also the team captain and has the power to make the MMC life hard. He also knows exactly what his men are up to, so he knows exactly how the MMC was before his sister, and that's why he was so mad at this relationship ever happening. I have struggled with college-age characters lately, but this one just worked. Plus, I read this book at the height of my ice hockey obsession, and it might not have done as well with me if I didn't read it then. I think it was just the right book at the right time scenario for me. I want to go back and read the rest of this series.

Heath and Ginny were so fun!

This was an unlikely pair, but I was rooting for them the whole time. It was a secret friends-with-benefits situation, but it was also so much more than hooking up. Throughout the book, you can see how Heath starts to care for Ginny and vice verse. They learned to trust each other despite them thinking it will all end soon.

While I'm not a fan of miscommunication, I see why the story needed to take that route and I still enjoyed it. I loved seeing Gunny get more outgoing and make friends. In the beginning, she was shy and didn't know what to do but throughout the book, you can really see her gain her confidence and speak for herself. I loved the tension every time they were in a public space, the tension was so well done!

Such a fun read, and can't wait to read the rest of the series.
