What an eye-opening story of young Javier's 7-week journey to make it to his parents in the US. I was stressed along with the author telling the story day by day.
Halfway through the audiobook, I saw a review mention being annoyed by the amount of the text that was in Spanish. At that point in the story, I disagreed and thought it added to the reminder that Javier was traveling to such a new place. But by the last couple of chapters, the amount of the dialogue that was in Spanish had increased and I feel like I was missing important elements of what was happening without any additional context.

The language is beautifully poetic even when Zomora speaks about unpleasant, scary, or dangerous situations. I didn't understand the Spanish words, but, in context, the meaning was clear. I listened to the author read the story. This is now one of my favorite books.
