A very well done biography in a graphic novel format. The life of Harriet Tubman, beginning with how her grandparents may have ended up as slaves, and her early life, this book eventually leads into her work on the Underground Railroad, and in the Civil War, including many of the heroic deeds which she did to free as many slaves as possible, and help them in any way she could. This book also recounts some of the injustices done to her- both in her time as a slave, and in her time as a free woman, but emphasizes how hard she worked to do right, ending by touching on her involvement in the suffrage movement.
Overall, a really well done book, very accessible for kids and teens wanting to learn more about an awesome woman of color!
