Bought this for my niece’s birthday. The photography is gorgeous and the samples from around the world are stunning. We cannot wait for another book and follow the photographer’s Instagram
Beautiful photographs and some wonderful back stories, this really is a lovely book.
By seeing the photos and reading the stories of these amazing women from around the world, I feel connected to them, and inspired. I preordered The Atlas Of Beauty as soon as it was available, and when it finally arrived it was exactly what I had hoped it would be.
The intention here is fairly straight forward. A relatively new photographer takes on a personal mission to travel to various places around the world and take photos of women, along with small stories along the way. It is clear that this is a new project and one that Noroc is working hard on exploring more places to gather more photographs. Some readers may find this book not inclusive enough or not diverse enough, but I would argue that Noroc is approaching all of these individuals on her own and travels on her own dime. Therefore, I believe it would be more challenging for her to seek out specific individuals rather than just exploring the places and approaching individuals more naturally.
As for the United States complaint about only being in New York City, I would (again) argue that Noroc lives in Romania and does not seem to have the excessive luxury to explore the United States as easily as it would be traveling through European countries. If you find yourself dissatisfied with the selections in this book, her website may be a better choice to browse as it is continually updated.

This book badly needed an editor for two reasons:
First, trim down the volume. The book should've been around 100–150 pages.
Second, to inform her that she needs to at least quote or mention the struggle that women face in India, North Korea, and—the most obvious one—the Palestinian territories, as she quoted and mentioned the struggle that women in some parts of the world go through to just be pole dancers.

Kind of like "Humans of New York", but worldwide and with exclusively women. The short blurbs about the women's lives were fascinating, and the photographs were stunning. I only wish more countries represented.
