Really struggled to get through this book. Started out motivated but by the end I was skimming. The information was accurate and interesting but it read like a disorganized textbook. Story after story, name after name of the same thing. I have a masters degree in environmental science and policy, and climate denialism is something I studied in depth. I read this book in hopes it would have new, relevant information; It was mostly things I already knew. I am not sure if this book would be better for someone who had not deeply studied climate science or if it would be even more thick and hard to get through for them.

Seemed endless. Metaphors and pop culture references got really tiresome. Important, but could have been a pamphlet.

Fantastic historical narrative that follows the people who invented electricity all the way to denying climate change is upon us. Lipsky uses clever anecdotes and fascinating stories to break up the heavy history of climate science.

The second half of the book (the section on climate deniers), the author was trying to follow so many different people and threads, and I would have preferred it went in chronological order. A lot of good content, really important (and enraging), but I couldn’t keep track of it the way it was written.
