Excellent book. Only wish the content in the epilogue had been explored more.

SYNOPSIS:
  • Alice hits her head, and as a result of the head injury, she can’t remember the last ten years of her life. She is 39, and she has 3 kids. However, the last thing she remembers is being 29, being pregnant with her first kid, and happily married to Nick.
  • She tries to regain her memory, as she adjusts to the “new” life.

MY THOUGHTS
  • At first glance, this book doesn’t seem deep, but I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of the characters & the exploration of different themes.
  • The characters are likable, flawed, and relatable. As I read, I really wanted them all to be happy.
  • It is an interesting premise because it explores how time changes us. Things happen. People change. I also loved how the head injury turns into an opportunity for Alice to really explore what is important to her & the type of person she wants to be.
  • The writing style is great. A few different POVs are offered (Alice’s, Alice’s sister’s via journal entries, and Frannie’s via letters).
  • This book made me think, and it was hopeful, funny, and emotional.
  • I would definitely recommend it.
  • Trigger warning: Alice’s sister deals with infertility plot lines throughout book.

TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️excellent writing. makes you think. woman has head injury & doesn’t remember last 10 years of her life.
