I loved this book! But I am a psychologist, and I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone I thought might have serious suicidal ideation, due to discussions around methods.stacerino's review against another edition

I found the ending was nice but it felt like it jumped from being a slow read to the ending being opposite to what had happened in the last few chapters.
This was the second book I have read from Liane Moriarty; my first read was Apples Never Fall which I really enjoyed...but I remember feeling ripped off by the ending so this may just be her style of storytelling.

- Alice hits her head, and as a result of the head injury, she can’t remember the last ten years of her life. She is 39, and she has 3 kids. However, the last thing she remembers is being 29, being pregnant with her first kid, and happily married to Nick.
- She tries to regain her memory, as she adjusts to the “new” life.
- At first glance, this book doesn’t seem deep, but I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of the characters & the exploration of different themes.
- The characters are likable, flawed, and relatable. As I read, I really wanted them all to be happy.
- It is an interesting premise because it explores how time changes us. Things happen. People change. I also loved how the head injury turns into an opportunity for Alice to really explore what is important to her & the type of person she wants to be.
- The writing style is great. A few different POVs are offered (Alice’s, Alice’s sister’s via journal entries, and Frannie’s via letters).
- This book made me think, and it was hopeful, funny, and emotional.
- I would definitely recommend it.
- Trigger warning: Alice’s sister deals with infertility plot lines throughout book.
Graphic: Miscarriage and Infertility

Minor: Death of parent and Infertility
